How tuition works
What sets tuition
What sets tuition is the program you choose: the band program with a weekly rehearsal and a lesson, a lesson on its own, or a summer week. Lesson length, 30 or 45 minutes, counts too. We go over our figures at your first class.
Band program: a weekly rehearsal and a weekly lesson
Lessons only: 30 or 45 minutes, one-on-one
Summer rock weeks: by the week
Registration
A yearly registration covers your student file, the first trial class and setting up your weekly times. It is due when you sign up, and we give you the figure at your first class.
Holding a place
A weekly place is held once your first month is paid. When a band is full we keep a waitlist by level and send an offer by email as a place opens.
Billing
The band program and lessons are billed monthly, and summer weeks by the week. Autopay is set up when you enroll. A monthly plan covers the whole ten-week term, so it is not pay-as-you-go.
Siblings
If more than one student in a family enrolls, ask the front desk how it works when two siblings are in the program at once, and we will explain it at sign-up.
Withdrawing
Tell the front desk a month before the term ends to stop at the end of it. For a term in progress, we set out in writing what happens to what is left.
Missed classes and make-ups
A missed lesson can move to another time in the same month. A band rehearsal can't be made up, because the band plays together; your coach will catch you up on what you missed.
Rentals, books and other costs
Some costs sit outside tuition: instrument rental, method books your teacher chooses, show night costs and a school T-shirt. Each is optional, and your teacher tells you what you need.
